Lesson 1 of 3 · Measuring extraction

What TDS means

Total dissolved solids and strength.

TDS is the share of the cup that is coffee: a filter brew at 1.35% holds 1.35 g of dissolved coffee in every 100 g.

It measures strength, the body and intensity you taste. It says nothing yet about how well the coffee extracted.
